“Who Are Real Superheroes?” worksheetand together as a family discuss various answers.  You can use the books you’ve read for this theme day to help as well.   Do you know any heroes?  Are there any local heroes in your newspaper?  What occupations would you consider heroic?  Who are some historical heroes? What are the qualities of a hero (brave, strong, loyal, helping others, making right choices)?

Chances are if you are having a Superhero Theme Day your kids will already have some super hero action figures. Why not play with them together?

Search through your child’s DVD/ video collection (or visit your local library before hand) to find your child’s favourite shows with Superheroes in them or shows about being brave.

Use your Smartphone or other device to create a Superhero movie starring YOUR FAMILY.  We used the iMovie app to make our videos.


1.    Come up with a basic story.

2.    Break the story into scenes by creating Storyboards.

3.    Gather costumes and props for each scene.

4.     Have a practice run.

5.     Now you are all set to film.
