Make a candle burn under water...

Tape a candle into a large bowl using duct tape. Carefully fill it will water (we poured the water in with a small measuring cup so it could stay still on a shelf). Have a parent or older child light the candle. Let it burn and melt and create a cave of wax that shelters the candle from the water.

Be sure to keep away from small children!
