Space

Try some of these snacks and treats for some food that is out of this world!

DINNER:

Star Sandwich:

Use a star cookie cutter to press into your bread slices to create a star sandwich.

If your kids like spreadable toppings like peanut butter, jam, honey, cream cheese, etc., then these sandwiches are easy to assemble. Simply spread one on slice and then top with another slice of bread.

If your kids want ham and cheese try cutting the ham and cheese using the star cookie cutter.

LUNCH:

Some museums and science stores sell “Astronaut Food” (or freeze-dried foods) If you can find any try that for this Theme Day.

SNACKS:

Pancake Planet:

Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour,  1/2 tsp salt, 2 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp baking powder, 2 eggs, 2 cups buttermilk, canola oil for the griddle or non-stick pan. Chocolate or other flavoured ice-cream sauce.

Step 1: Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.

Step 2: In a separate bowl beat the eggs and add the buttermilk.
Step 3:  Mix the egg and milk combo into the dry ingredients with a large wooden spoon.

Step 4: Heat a pan or griddle to medium heat and add some canola oil. Scoop about 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot griddle to cook pancakes, flipping once bubbles have formed on the top side.

Step 5: We used a spoon to draw a chocolate sauce ring around our pancake planet because our homemade sauce was pretty runny. If your sauce is thick you may be able to squirt a ring - test on a separate plate.

The Cheesy Moon Pizza:
